Banks will begin to re-engage in the DIS

Banks will begin to re-engage in the DIS

Bashprombank, adopted on 5 March in the deposit insurance system (DIS), has become the first bank, which managed to return the license to attract deposits after the expiration of the two-year moratorium. Two years ago, he had not entered the deposit insurance system because of the requirements of the Central Bank of inconsistency.

Market participants have pointed out that this is the first case of successful realization of the right of banks attempt to enter the CERs. Experts predict a wave of applications for membership of the CERs from banks, which previously had been denied because of their unreliability.

The Committee of Banking Supervision of the Central Bank refused to join the deposit insurance system of some 300 banks. Ability to challenge the decision taken advantage of about 130 banks, the success of which ended with 10 attempts. Given that a significant number of the remaining 120 banks in the two years waiting lost licence banks seeking entry into CER, now have less than hundreds.

Specialists believe that the return of retail banks, there has not previously been admitted because of the high risks for investors, the risk of the banking system does not increase, but significantly improve the treatment of such banks as customers and potential investors.
